Te Tiriti O Waitangi
Lyttelton Health Centre will, as per our Māori Health Plan, show our commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi
Equity Mission Statement, Lyttelton Health Centre will provide sustainable person-centred primary healthcare as guided by the principles of Te Tiriti O Waitangi.
We will be values-driven leaders in exceptional, innovative, equitable healthcare for Māori and all our people. Empowering growth in our staff, patients, and community.
We will work collaboratively with Māori, Rāpaki Marae, Pegasus PHO, Te Aka Whai Ora / Māori Health Authority, Te Whatu Ora – Waitaha Canterbury (formally CDHB) and other key stakeholders in the Lyttelton area as well as the wider Christchurch area.
We will audit and review health data to measure and implement clinical quality improvement programs to address disparities between Māori and Non-Māori identifying opportunities for improvement. We will ensure health equity.
We are very fortunate to have on staff, Ellen Crofts who is one of the Primary Care Nurses who is NZ Māori – Ngāti Whātua, Ngāti Rangiwewehi, Ngāti Porou, Ngāpuhi. She is committed to NZ Māori and their health journeys. She is our Equity champion here at Lyttelton Health Centre so please feel free to give her a call to have a korero.
