Mātanga Tapuhi Nurse Practitioner George will be working Wednesday mornings and all day Thursdays and Fridays. Her appointments are 20 mins, and costs the same as seeing a GP. Nurse Practitioners (NPs) are experienced nurses who have advanced education and clinical training. NPs are registered with the New Zealand Nursing Council to practise beyond the level of a registered nurse. They are able to see and treat you in much the same way as a GP, including writing prescriptions, ordering tests and referring you to specialists.
