FLU vaccination clinics in April

Flu season is nearly here, and keeping yourself and your whānau protected is more important than ever. 

Lyttelton Health Centre FLU CLINICS are starting from 2nd April

The flu clinics will be held on:

Thurs 2nd April 10-12pm

Tues 7th April 10-12pm

Thurs 9th April 10-12 AND 4.30 – 5.45pm

Tues 14th April 10-12pm

Thurs 16th April 10-12pm

Thurs 23rd April 10-12 AND 4.30 – 5.45pm

The 2026 flu vaccine is free for those at highest risk of severe illness, including: 

  • All pregnant people;
  • All people aged 65 years and over;
  • Children 4 years of age and under who have been hospitalised for respiratory illness or have a history of significant respiratory illness; 
  • People aged 6 months to 64 years of age with eligible conditions, including heart disease, chronic respiratory diseases, diabetes, and other conditions; and
  • People aged 6 months to 64 years of age with serious mental health and addiction conditions.

If you do not meet the above free flu vaccine criteria, there will be a $38.50 cost for the flu vaccine. 

The flu is not the same as a common cold. Symptoms can come on suddenly and include fever, chills, muscle aches, runny nose, cough, shortness of breath and stomach upsets. The flu can make you very sick even if you are usually fit and healthy.

Getting a flu vaccination is the best way to protect yourself and your family against the effects of the flu.
